Why not write on the CNN FB wall to show how you feel?
I can’t even deal with this. What about that girl’s life falling apart before her eyes the next day, when she found out what had been done to her? What people had seen…and allowed to continue without a word of protest? What people recorded and posted online and laughed over?
what about how this is going to haunt her for the rest of her life - not just the attack itself, but the aftermath, with people mocking her, dismissing her, trying to attack her credibility even with piles of evidence in her favor? what about the friends she’s lost, the trust she may have once had in her community and in her world that she’ll never get back?
why doesn’t that ever matter?
I guess it’s sad or whatever when a woman is raped….but, y’know, that’s just part of the daily risk incurred by being a woman. she’ll deal. no need to talk about it.
what’s really horrifying is that her attackers might have some consequences to face.
